IDW Games and Pandasaurus will release String Safari, a new game by Trains designer Hisashi Hayashi, in March.
Hayashi is designer on Trains (see "AEG Preps 'Trains Second Edition'") and Sail to India (see "'Sail to India'"), both released by Alderac in the US. String Safari is part of a “string system” family of games designed by Hayashi that includes String Railway, String Railway: Transport, and String Savanna. The game features new artwork by Fico Ossio (Skylanders).
The family-friendly game features both a basic and advanced set of rules, for both younger gamers and more experienced players. Players are researchers competing to complete their research projects by roping the most exotic animals (porcupines, wild dogs, lions, etc.) within their string circle. Each round the target animal goals change. The researcher who captures the most correct animals wins.
The game is for 3-5 players, and plays in about 30 minutes. MSRP is $24.99.
