White Wolf Publishing has announced an agreement with German director/producer Uwe Boll for the film rights to its Hunter: The Reckoning horror property.  Hunter: The Reckoning was one of several horror properties developed by White Wolf for its World of Darkness RPG setting.  Since its introduction in 1999, the Hunter: The Reckoning RPG has spawned a series of mass-market novels and three video games from Vivendi Universal, making it one of White Wolf's most successful properties.

The video game releases were probably the key element in getting Hunter optioned for the big screen since Uwe Boll and his Boll KG production unit have specialized in bringing popular video game franchises to the silver screen.  Artisan released the Boll-produced House of the Dead (based on the Sega game) in 2003 and Boll KG is readying a film adaptation of Atari's Alone in the Dark.  Shawn Williamson of Brightlight Pictures, which co-produced Alone in the Dark, will perform a similar function on Hunter: The Reckoning.
