Rio Grande Games, a leading producer of board games for the U.S. market, has announced its release schedule for the next few months.  Three new releases are planned for February.  Corsari ($11.95), by Leo Colovini, is a pirate game in which players try to recruit the best players for their ships.  In Alexandros ($32.95), also by Colovini, players act as Alexander the Great's generals.  Hector and Achilles ($29.95), out of Rio Grande's new deal with Phalanx (see 'Rio Grande Gets U.S. Phalanx Games Rights'), is a Trojan War game in which each of two players commands one of the two armies in the war.

Four new games are planned for March and April.  Goa ($32.95), by Rudiger Dorn, is set at the turn of the 16th century; players seek to build the most successful business.  St. Petersburg ($27.95), by Michael Tummelhofer, is set in 1703, in the time of Peter the Great.  The other two will be Marco Polo by Reiner Knizia, and Power Grid by Friedemann Friese.

Rio Grande also announced that due to the weakness of the dollar against the Euro (Rio Grande games are manufactured in Germany), prices will go up, although they will be reduced if the exchange rate returns to its past levels.
