Mayfair Games, which has thirteen products on its 04 schedule, announced details on about half of them at the recently concluded GAMA Trade Show. 

 

First up is Dos Rios, 'a gamer's game, but not severe.'  Co-produced with Kosmos, Dos Rios will be released in mid- to late April at $49.  Harvesting crops produces profits, which allows the player to own property, etc. in the valley of the two rivers.  Control of the dams is control of the valley.  Playable in 1-1.5 hours.

 

La Strada, another co-production with Kosmos, will be released in late April at $36.  This is an 'extremely accessible' game, in which the player is the owner of a Northern Italian trading company.     

 

Station Master is an original gameby Chris Baylis, planned for June release.  A card game 'for conductors and engineers' 8 and up.

 

Russian Rails, due in late June, is an Empire Builder game set in the Soviet Union after World War II. 

 

Valley of the Kings is a tile game set in ancient Egypt designed by Jean Vanais.  It's planned for release in Q3. 

 

Anno 1503, also planned for Q3, is designed by Klaus (Catan) Teuber and co-produced with Kosmos.  Anno 1503 is based on the most popular online game in Germany, which will also be available in the U.S. late this year.    

 

And for its most popular franchise, there will likely be a Settlers of Catan card expansion in 2004.  2005 will be the 10th anniversary of the game's launch; special observances are planned.
