Eagle Games is currently targeting five game categories, according to company president Glenn Drover, and is expanding its distribution to maximize the reach of each category.  The five categories are:

Big box strategy games.  Eagle's American Civil War and Napoleon in Europe fit this category.

Board games based on computer games, such as Civilization and Age of Mythology.

Euro-games, or original designs similar to Euro-games.  Eagle plans its first this fall, when it will release Corner the Market at $39.99.  The company also plans to do a licensed railroad game in this category, created in the U.S.

Computer games, such as the Age of Imperialism.  Eagle's next will be a No Limit Texas Hold-em Tournament game, the first of its type to hit the market.

And party games, directed at a more mass market target than Eagle's other paper games.  Odds 'R, released in November, is Eagle's first in this category, and it's 'doing great,' according to Drover.

Eagle has been expanding its distribution and is currently in around 8,000 stores, according to Drover.  He expects the total to reach 10,000 stores in North America and Europe by the end of the year.  The specialty market currently accounts for about 25% of Eagle's retail locations, and forms a solid base for Eagle's sales.  Other channels include bookstores (where Odds 'R is a good fitl); specialty retail and mass merchant computer game stores, such as Gamestop and Compusa (both of which carry some paper products as well as Eagle's computer titles); and toy stores (Attack is in Toys R Us).
