Mongoose Publishing, the British game mavens responsible for the Starship Troopers, Conan the Barbarian, and Babylon 5 role-playing games, has announced a new original role-playing game Infernum, which is set in the nine circles of Dante's Hell.  The first volume in the series, Infernum: Book of the Damned (retail $39.95) is slated for April.  The Book of the Damned is actually the first of three comprehensive 256-page rulebooks Mongoose is launching this spring, and it will be followed by Infernum: Book of the Tormentor ($39.95 also April) and Infernum: Book of the Conqueror ($39.95 May).

Players in the Infernum RPG can choose to be vicious demons, valiant humans or Fallen Angels and the object of the game is to battle your way across all nine circles of Hell and rise through the ranks conquering all before you.  The Book of the Conqueror explains how to raise armies and wield their power to dominate and even conquer Hell itself.  Obviously this dark fantasy RPG is not intended for the faint of heart.
