Greg Roch of Comic Readers in Regina, Saskatchewan saw the news that Upper Deck is changing its shipping policy on new Yu-Gi-Oh! releases (see 'Upper Deck Changes Shipping Policy on Yu Gi Oh,' and 'Upper Deck SVP Rich Henry Sends an Open Letter'), and suggests other companies follow suit:

Well, it's about time.  Upper Deck has stepped up to the plate, so-to-speak, with the new hobby retailer-friendly policy of a week's grace to sell new Yu-Gi-Oh! product.  Now it's time for all the other companies out there to follow suit.  The Big Two (comic publishers) as well as other companies like Wizards of the Coast could learn a thing or two from this new policy, and this is the North American comic retailer's challenge to them all:

One month.  Just give all specialty retailers one month to sell your company's product, whether it be the new Ultimate Spider-Man, JLA, or Ranma 1/2 graphic novel, and then you can distribute to all other channels you see fit.  Instead of just telling everyone you respect and appreciate the work that comic and game retailers do for your product, prove it.  Make the commitment to keep specialty retailers not only in business, but to grow their businesses as well for a long time.
