Bob Cosner of Bob's Baseball Cards in Des Moines, Iowa saw the comment by Sydney Walton of Collector's Dream on finding the Star Wars Miniature Game in Wal-Mart (see 'Sydney Walton of Collectors Dream on Star Wars Minis in Wal-Mart'), and shares the concern but points out a problem with Wal-Mart's returns policy for this category:

Sydney Walton shares my concerns.  My response to Wizards of the Coast was this:  I attract people to play the game and hold tournaments in my store, but why would anyone buy the product from me when Wal-Mart has the same items for 23% less?  So, Wal Mart makes money and I get to baby sit.  Nice going WotC!

However, I have had three cust
omers already that told me they purchased boosters from Wal-Mart and there were no rare figures in the pack.  Upon further review the pack had been opened and re-glued.

With Wal-Mart's return policy being so loose, that doesn't surprise me because the same thing happens to sports cards everyday.  S
omeone buys a box of packs, opens them, keeps the good stuff, puts crap back in the packs, re-shrink-wraps the boxes, and returns them for a full refund, letting some other poor soul get taken for their hard earned money.  Wal-Mart won't give you a refund if you return a box of nothing.

What a great society we live in.
