Score Entertainment's Epic Battles TCG, which allows players to pit fighters from Midway Amusement's Mortal Kombat: Deception videogame against characters from Capcom's Streetfighter III: Third Strike game, will debut in September exclusively at the 3,700 company-owned Blockbuster video stores.  Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat starter decks and booster packs will be sold separately, but both utilize the fully compatible Epic Battles TCG fighting mechanic, which means that fans can position Ryu against Liu Kang, Blanka against Baraka, and M. Bison against Sub Zero.

Starter decks, which include a rulebook, playmat and full deck of cards, have a suggested retail price of $12.99.  Booster packs will include one rare and three uncommon cards.

Canadian-based Udon Entertainment, the comic studio behind the Street Fighter comic book, will provide art for the both the Mortal Kombat: Deception and Street Fighter TCG series.

The nature of the Epic Battles game mechanic will likely enable Score to include characters from other fighting video games in future editions if this first Epic Battles release can lure gamers away from their consoles.
