WizKids, the creators of the category-defining Mage Knight Collectible Miniatures Game, has announced some small adjustments to its 2001-2002 production schedule.  According to Martin Stever, WizKids' Executive VP of Sales and Marketing, 'This small adjustment to our release schedule will put us right in line with the feedback we have received from retailers and consumers. Because of some design and production delays, we were going to have too many large items shipping too closely together in November.  Retailers we talked to told us this was a problem, so we are responding with this schedule change.'  The key changes announced by WizKids involve postponing the release of the Knights Immortal Chariot, originally scheduled for release in November, until February, and delaying the release of the Radiant Light Dragon (see 'WizKids Readies Radiant Light Dragon') until Spring of 2002.  The other major change involves moving the release date of Mage Knight Whirlwind, the second expansion for the Mage Knight Rebellion game up one week to October 26.

Here is the current WizKids release schedule for the rest of this year:

Atlantis Chariot                                     September 28

Mage Knight Metals Lancer Set 7                October 5

Mage Knight Whirlwind                                 October 26

Mage Knight Metals Lancer Set 8                November 2

Black Powder Rebel Tank                               November 23

Atlantis Guild Tank                                        December 14

The limited edition large figures have done extremely well for WizKids so far. Two limited edition large figures were shifted out of fourth quarter to give the other major releases more of a chance to 'breathe' at retail.  Note that the new schedule balances the release of the three large figures the Atlantis Chariot (Sept.), Black Powder Rebel Tank (Nov.), and Atlantis Guild Tank (Dec.) with the release of the other key product, the Mage Knight Whirlwind Expansion (Oct.).
