Wizards of the Coast is planning substantial marketing support for Baxar's War, the first expansion for its new Dreamblade Collectible Miniatures Game.  Support for this first follow-on release is in line with the major push the company gave the launch (see 'WotC Plans Heavy Dreamblade Marketing').

Point of purchase items being provided to retailers include photo checklist posters, pre-order counter cards, and six promo minis per store (two each of three different figures).  Print ads will appear in three Wizard titles, Scrye, and select Dark Horse comic titles, among others.  An online campaign will also support Baxar's War, which streets October 27th.

Sales on WotC's new miniature game have been 'stronger than expected,' according to a company spokesperson, who said that retailer reorders have been climbing on a weekly basis.  Over 300 retailers are hosting organized play events, a number that is also increasing.

The second Dreamblade expansion is scheduled for January 2007.
