Later this month Z-Man Games will release its first Reiner Knizia game, Sudoku: The Card Game (MSRP $15.00), which takes the cult hit puzzle and transforms it into a multi-player card game.  With simple, fast and elegant game play, this game provides 2-5 players with a comparable experience to working on a Sudoku puzzle.

There are 54 cards in the game, 45 of which are blue and numbered 1-9, with 9 yellow cards also numbered 1-9.  The yellow cards form the boxes in which you need to create a Sudoku puzzle (each number surrounding the yellow card must be a different number).  But the vertical and horizontal lines also contain different numbers, so players must be careful where they create new boxes as well as where to place their blue cards.  If a player cannot place a card without breaking the rules, it goes on a penalty stack.  Once all cards are played, the player with the least points wins.
