The Mysteries, famed Calvin and Hobbes creator Bill Watterson’s graphic novel with artist John Kascht (a very different story from his strip work, see "New GN from Watterson”), was #2 for the month, a strong showing on release for someone who’s been out of the public view for decades. Also making the chart in its first month was Daniel Clowes’ Monica (see "Fantagraphics To Publish ‘Monica’"). Monica ranked higher in comic stores for October; The Mysteries didn’t chart (see "Top 20 Comic Store Graphic Novels – October 2023").
The new volumes of hit manga and webtoon drove sales on the rest of the chart.
