Max Makowski has been signed to direct the adaptation of the Kung Fu TV series for Legendary Pictures, according to Variety.   Like many others, the movie is moving toward a quick production to avoid the impact of a possible strike next year.  Kung Fu, which starred David Carradine in its 70s run, introduced martial arts to a mass audience in the U.S.

Makowski directed One Last Dance, in which Harvey Keitel joined an Asian cast.  He's also working on a remake of the anime-based Japanese film Shinobi.  FUNimation has the original (see 'FUNimation Acquires Live Action Film').

Albert and Allen Hughes (From Hell) had previously been slated to direct Kung Fu.
