
Art Impressions’ Skelanimals characters, originally launched with vinyl and plush from Toynami in 2006 (see “Toynami’s 2006 Line Mixes Anime and Goth”), will be featured in major programs with chain retailers across categories this fall and holiday season. Participating retailers include Borders, Toys R Us, and Target.
Borders will feature Skelanimals boutiques for the holiday season in its new teen sections.

The Target program has already launched with custom Skelanimals shops filled with seasonal merchandise for Halloween, home décor, and girls’ apparel and fashion accessories. Target is also offering two exclusive Skelanimals characters (Timmy the Spider and Oliver the Owl), a CD by Family Force with music and a CGI animated short, and exclusive Skelanimals M&Ms.
Mid-tier retailers Kohl’s and Penney’s will also offer Skelanimals merchandise this fall.
The Skelanimals property (tag line: “Dead Animals Need Love Too”) has been experiencing triple digit growth each year since its 2006 launch. The products are directed at teen and young adults, girls 6-13, kids 4-6, and toy collectors.
