Disney announced plans to produce a Tron animated series to capitalize on the revival of the property that begins with the release of the Tron: Legacy feature in December (see “Tron vs. Green Hornet”), according to Hollywood Reporter. The show will be targeted at kids 6-14.
In what appears to be the new way to launch a show on Disney XD (see “Avengers Series on Disney XD”), Disney will kick off the series with a 10-part Tron micro-series beginning in fall 2011.
Tron: Legacy, which premieres December 17th, will be in 3D (see “Spidey Snags Imax Venues”).
