Bandai Entertainment has announced that the second season of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion will be broadcast on the Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim.  The first 25-episode Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion anime series debuted in Japan in October of 2006 and on Adult Swim in April of 2008 (see “Code Geass Adult Swim Premiere Scheduled”).  The 18-episode second season, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 was first broadcast in Japan on April 6th, 2008.

Code Geass, which features character designs by the manga supergroup Clamp and was produced by anime powerhouse Sunrise, has been extremely popular in Japan where it has inspired a number of manga spin-offs (three of which have been licensed for the U.S. by Bandai).  Bandai released the first two DVD volumes of Code Geass ($24.98 each) in the U.S. on August 5th.
