Viz Media is making the Nana anime series available exclusively from iTunes until August 31st.  Madhouse animated the 47-episode shojo series, which is based on the popular manga series by Ai Yazawa that has sold a mammoth total of over 43 million copies in Japan (Viz Media publishes Nana here in the States).  Though the Nana manga, is not considered a “josei” title, it is rated “M” for mature content, and it has proven to be one of the most popular 18+ shojo releases here in North America, where josei (sexy shojo manga for college age and older female readers) titles have not had nearly the impact they do in Japan.

On September 8th Viz Media is releasing the 3-disk Nana: Uncut DVD Box Set Vol.1 (MSRP $59.98), which contains episodes 1-11.5 and carries an 18+ age rating with a Parental Advisory for “Explicit Content.”  

Another Viz Media anime based on a sexy shojo/josei manga, Honey and Clover, is also currently available on iTunes.  Viz is releasing the first 3-disk Honey and Clover Uncut DVD Vol.1 (MSRP $59.98), which contains episodes 1-13, on September 22nd.
