Willem Dafoe has been cast as (green Martian) Tars Tarkas in John Carter of Mars, according to the Hollywoood trades. Dafoe joins Taylor Kitsch and Lynn Collins in the Andrew Stanton film (see “John Carter Leads Cast”) based on the Edgar Rice Burroughs books. Shooting is expected to start early next year.
