Director Ryuhei Kitamura (Midnight Meat Train) and writer Holly Brix (The Butterfly Effect 3: Revelations) are attached to The Magdalena, which is based on the Top Cow comic book about a descendant of Mary Magdalene who functions as a defender of the Catholic Church.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jenna Dewan (Step Up) and musician/actor Luke Goss (Hellboy II: The Golden Army), who appeared at a Top Cow Magdalena event at San Diego in 2008 (see “Jenna Dewan & Luke Goss in The Magdalena”) are still attached to star in the film.
