The Dino De Laurentiis remake of Barbarella has both a new writer and director attached, according to Hollywood Reporter. Robert Luketic (Legally Blonde) is attached to direct, and Joe Gazzam is writing the screenplay.
Robert Rodriguez was attached to direct at one point (see “Rodriguez to Direct Barbarella”), but he’s not longer associated with the project. De Laurentiis at one point planned to reissue the graphic novels on which the character is based as part of the revival (see “Book, Movie Deal to Revive Barbarella”), although there’s been no mention of that part of the project lately.
