Late last year Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar let it slip that he was writing and directing a superhero film (see “Millar Helming Superhero Movie”), now he has released some details on Miracle Park, the superhero saga he describes as “X-Men meets Trainspotting.” Principal photography on the low-budget film, which is being shot in Scotland, will finish by the end of October. Millar is shooting the film entirely with hand-held cameras (be sure and bring aspirin to all screenings) to get that Blair Witch Project/Paranormal Activity faux-documentary look.
According to IGN, Miracle Park is set in contemporary Scotland. A group of animal rights activists break into low-level research lab only to find a mile-long underground base owned and operated by the U.S. government.
