Although it is already in production, Marc Webb’s reboot of Spider-Man continues to add cast members. The latest announcement involves 1980s child star C. Thomas Howell (E.T., The Outsiders, Red Dawn), who has joined a cast that includes Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, and Irrfan Khan.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Howell will play a character known as “Ray.”  Spideyologists are now busy studying all the sacred texts and trying to determine exactly which “Ray” he will play and how his role will fit into the rebooted Spidey “teen” saga.

Meanwhile Stan Lee has posted on his Twitter stream that he is totally jazzed about his cameo in the new Spider-Man movie, which was described to him by producer Avi Arad. “Avi told me my cameo is all set for Spidey 4, and when he described it, I realized it’s the best, most unusual one yet! I wish I could tell you what my cameo is, but that would kill the surprise. But I’ll tell you this much—I’m finally in an action scene!”
