Marvel Entertainment has the reputation for maximizing the earning potential of its movie properties so it comes as no surprise that key props from the latest round of Marvel movies are being auctioned off at C2E2 in Chicago on April 14th.  The items going under the gavel include a Captain America Costume complete with shield that was actually used in the filming of a Marvel epic, a stunt version of Thor’s hammer Mjolnir, an Iron Man Mark II “Autopsy” Suit, a prop Cosmic Cube, a Red Skull prosthetic mask, and a Hydra tank built on a tractor frame.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the auction of Marvel items is likely to raise considerable cash.  The spiffy full scale, screen-used fiberglass-resin Iron Man Mark II “Autopsy” Armor from Iron Man II should bring $60,000 to $80,000 according to estimates from the L.A.-based Profiles in History, which is conducting the auction.  The full screen-used Captain America costume and shield will likely bring $20K to $30 K, while the foam rubber Mjolnir could net as much as $4,000 to $6,000.
