Tim Burton is in talks to direct Beetlejuice 2, to which he is already attached as a producer with David Geffen, according to Variety.  Michael Keaton is also considering a return to the title role, according to the report. 

Burton has scheduling issues; he’s due to direct Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children which already has a release date of July 15, 2014.

Seth Grahame-Smith (Dark Shadows, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) is writing a script.
