Warner Bros. has set the date for the release of its big budget 3D Tarzan film: July 1, 2016. That puts it in close proximity to another big bet by Warners, the Superman vs. Batman film, which was recently moved to May 6, 2016 from June 26, 2015 (see "Ouch! 'Superman/Batman' Movie Bumped to 2016").
Tarzan now has its cast pretty well set, with Margot Robbie recently signed as Jane (see "Geek Movie Round-Up"), joining Alexander Skarsgard, the ubiquitous Samuel Jackson, and Christoph Waltz. It will be directed by David Yates.
