Joker (origin movie)
October 4
Warner Bros. has chosen an October opening for its DC Comics Joker origins movie. Joaquin Phoenix will star as the title character, and Todd Phillips will direct. Phillips co-wrote the script with Scott Silver.

Untitled Terminator Sequel
November 1
James Cameron is returning to shepherd this sequel, which will be directed by Tim Miller (Deadpool) and see the return of franchise stars Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The film has been bumped from several release dates. There have been several comic book adaptations of the property over the years, and more recently, board games based on individual movies.

Sonic The Hedgehog
November 8 
Paramount announced this date for a film based on the popular SEGA videogame character which will be directed by Jeff Fowler in February 2018. The film will be produced by Neal H. Moritz, with Deadpool director Tim Miller executive producing. There are plenty of licensed comics, board games and figures that feature Sonic and his friends Tails and Knuckles in the pipe.

Kingsman 3
November 9
Fox has claimed this date for its third Kingsman movie, an action-adventure spy franchise based on the Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons comics. The first film made over $414 million worldwide, and the sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle made $410 million worldwide.

Frozen 2
November 22
Disney is hoping for a big Thanksgiving Week opening with this sequel.

Untitled 20th Century Fox Marvel Movie
November 22
On June 30, 2017, 20th Century Fox claimed this date for one if six untitled X-Men movie projects. Will it be Deadpool 3, X-Force, or a movie focusing on Dafne Keen, who played X-23 in Logan

Masters of the Universe 
December 18
Sony announced this date for the long-discussed He-Man reboot in April 2017. David S. Goyer is writing the screenplay. 

Star Wars: Episode IX
December 20
This date was announced in September 2017 for the third film in in the latest “Skywalker Trilogy,”  which will be written and directed by J.J. Abrams (see “'Star Wars: Episode IX' Finds Director / Writer”).
