Leads have been cast for The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman’s other TV series, Outcast, and a director for the pilot signed, according to Deadline. The pilot for Cinemax moved into pre-production last summer, just a month after the first issue of the comic series by Kirkman and artist Paul Azaceta was released (see "TV Pilot Based on Kirkman's 'Outcast'").
Patrick Fugit (Almost Famous, Gone Girl) will pay Kyle Barnes, the man who’s been plagued by possession since he was a child. Philip Glenister (Life on Mars) has been cast as Reverend Anderson, an evangelical preacher. Gabriel Batman (Stalker, Annabelle) has been cast as Joshua Austin, a boy who appears to be possessed and has a connection to Kyle.
Andrew Wingard (The Guest) will direct the pilot.
