ADV films announced a number of anime acquisitions at last weekend's Anime Expo 2003. 

 

Kino's Journey:  A novel series first released in July of 2000, this story follows the adventures of a young boy named Kino and his talking motorcycle, Hermes.  According to the official website, Kino's Journey is scheduled to be broadcast on American television sometime in late 2003.

 

Slayers Premium:  In the fifth OVA featuring this action/comedy/SF property, heroes Lina Invers and Gourry Gabriev perform a task for a fishing village in return for their favorite form of payment:  food.  Unfortunately, this particular delicacy carries a curse.

 

Mahou Yugi:  Story about Padudu, an apprentice witch with a magical fish costume that supplies her with food and shelter on her excursions. 

 

Birth (AKA Debut):  This romantic comedy consists of two 29-minute episodes following the exploits of three schoolgirls that want to become actresses.  The girls soon find that the pressures of show business and the allure of good-looking boys are more they than they bargained for.

 

Azumanga Daioh:  Comedy/drama that depicts high school through the eyes of six girls.  This is an interstitial series consisting of 26 five-minute episodes.

 

D.N.Angel:  This male version of the 'Magical Girl' story is about a boy named Niwa Daisuki who turns into his alter ego Dark Mousy every time he encounters the girl he has a crush on. 

 

RahXephon movie:  Drama/Mecha/SF feature-length anime released in Japan in April of this year.  The story begins with a mysterious being appearing in Tokyo, much to the surprise of the denizens, who have forgotten that the outside world exists.

 

Also announced:  Gravion (action), Mani Mani (hentai), and Bast of Lemon.
