Oscar Isaacs, the actor portraying Apocalypse, the titular villain in Brian Singer’s X-Men: Age of Apocalypse, says that the character’s massive costume will be a combination of computer generated and physical elements. Apocalypse is an ancient mutant with complete control over all the molecules in his body, and he wears a massive armored suit that has been augmented by alien technology.
Isaacs told Yahoo Movies that he was already starting pre-production for his role by having a cast made of head, so "they get a sense of what your face is like and what shape your head is, so they can start figuring out the costume and the makeup."
Since X-Men: Age of Apocalypse is set in the 1980s, and apparently does not involve any time travel elements, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen will not be reprising their roles as Professor X and Magneto, rather those characters will be played by James MacAvoy and Michael Fassbender respectively. Early reports have the Mystique/Magneto relationship playing a major role in the Apocalypse saga (see "Mystique/Magneto Relationship at the Heart of 'X-Men: Apocalypse'").
The 1980s setting of X-Men: Age of Apocalypse might also involve getting younger actors for other roles including Storm, Cyclops, and Jean Grey, so don’t be surprised if they are some additional casting announcements for the film, which is currently slated for a May 27, 2016 debut.
