Canadian actor Colm Feore has been cast as Dr. Francis Dulmacher, aka The Dollmaker, in an upcoming episode of the new Fox series Gotham. The appearance of The Dollmaker has long been expected, since in the second episode of the recently renewed Gotham series the young Selena Kyle (Camren Bicondova) fingered The Dollmaker as the mastermind behind the mass kidnappings of Gotham’s street kids.
The Dollmaker first appeared in comics as one of the villains in Plastic Man comics. A second Dollmaker (alter ego Anton Schott) debuted in Supergirl #58 in January of 2011, while a third incarnation (aka Barton Mathis) debuted post-New 52 in Detective Comics #1 in November of 2011. The relationship, if any, between Barton Mathis and The Dollmaker, who is going to appear on Gotham is yet to be recognized.
Another version of The Dollmaker appeared last year on the DC Comics-based Arrow TV series on the CW network. His was played by Michael Eklund, and he was a serial killer who prowled Starling City, murdering young women and then arranging their dead bodies in doll-like poses.
