Just in time for the upcoming release of Avengers: Age of Ultron is Marvel: The Avengers Fault, a detailed illustrated history of Marvel's premiere superhero team. Naturally the focus is on the main characters from the Avengers movies: Captain America, Thor, Iron Man and The Hulk.
While it begins with a history of the group,each character gets a chapter of their own that's devoted to their solo careers, villains and supporting casts. Each chapter also contains a collectible pullout that contains items ranging from a poster of Thor to a facsimile of a Captain America Sentinels of Liberty club membership card from 1941.
Just doing this sort of history would be a daunting enough task but author Peter David has done a grand job of creating one that’s easily accessible to both longtime fans of the comics and those who only know the characters through the Marvel movies. It's a colorful, beautifully designed sturdy volume from its endpapers to its index. Older fans will definitely appreciate the original art from the comics that's reproduced here and the franchises youngest fans will find those collectible pullouts especially attractive.
