VIZ Media will release the new Ultraman manga series, which serves as sequel to the classic Japanese 1960s TV show, to North American audiences beginning on August 18th.
The new series is written by Eiichi Shimizu with illustration by Tomohiro Shimoguchi, and has been published in Monthy Hero magazine in Japan since 2011. The story follows Shinjiro, the son of Shin Hayata, the original Ultraman. When new alien kaiju threaten Earth, Shinjiro finds out his father passed on the "Ultraman Factor" to him, and he must defend the world from the new menace.
