At Toy Fair, Diamond Select was previewing upcoming Marvel releases for Avengers, Age of Ultron, Ant-Man and more.
The company was showing of Marvel Select figures for Avengers: Age of Ultron "We debuted Black Widow here at the show," Diamond Select Marketing Supervisor Zack Oat told ICv2. "She’s all new for the movie." Oat said the figures will be releasing right before or after the May 1st premiere of the movie (see "New 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' Teaser").
They will also release to series of Minimates related to the Age of Ultron movie for specialty stores: two-pack and blind-bag assortments. "This is the first time we’re doing (blind-bags) for Marvel, we tried that with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and it seemed to do well. The blind-bags will be supplemental, there will be 6 different designs." The blind-bag assortment will include chase figures of Baron Strucker and an early version of Ultron. "You’re guaranteed one of everybody if you buy a case."
For Ant-Man there will be a four-pack of Minimates and a Marvel Select action figure that comes with a smaller, scaled down figure and additional parts.
