Tom Ellis has been cast in the title role in Lucifer, the new drama series based on the comics spun out of Neil Gaiman’s Sandman series, according to Deadline. Ellis has done lots of TV work, most recently on Miranda and Rush.
Fox is moving ahead with the pilot, with Jerry Bruckheimer and Sleepy Hollow creator Len Wiseman behind it (see "Bruckheimer, 'Sleepy Hollow' Creator on 'Lucifer'").
