Geek icon Harrison Ford crash-landed a small vintage plane he was piloting on Penmar Golf Course in Venice, California shortly after taking off from Santa Monica airport, according to multiple sources, including Variety. He was taken to a hospital in “fair to moderate” condition, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Ford’s son followed up with a tweet from the hospital. "Dad is ok," he said. "Battered, but ok! He is every bit the man you would think he is. He is an incredibly strong man."
Ford’s been busy revisiting some of the properties where he made his bones, recently completing shooting for his role in the new Star Wars film after a break due to injury (see "'Star Wars: Episode VII' to Resume Filming"), and attaching to a new Blade Runner film (see "'Blade Runner' Has Harrison Ford, Script, and Director").
