At the GAMA Trade Show, ICv2 spoke with Enterplay President Dean Irwin about Super Mario licensed products, plans for a Legend of Zelda release, and upcoming My Little Pony CCG releases (see "Next 'MLP CCG' Block and CCG Primer").
There will be two versions of the lunch box, which are two-sided. One version will include 3D art, one will have 2D art.
"The Dog Tags are the first product that has the original 8-bit style art, with 2D and 3D art all in the same product," Irwin said.
Enterplay will also partner with UltraPRO to produce a Super Mario playmat.
"We’re also going to be doing a [Legend of] Zelda product. But that will not be until Q4 or Q1," Irwin said. "The reason for that is Nintendo lets the video game people see the products before they get approved, so you maintain the integrity of the brand. So we’re not going to submit our Zelda product until after their next big game." Nintendo will release The Legend of Zelda Wii U sometime in 2015.
