Indie Boards & Cards and Bezier Games are collaborating on One Night Resistance, which combines aspects of the popular deduction card game The Resistance (see "Two Expansions for 'The Resistance'") with the fast-paced party game One Night Ultimate Werewolf. The game is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter.
Designed by Ted Alspach (Suburbia, Castles of Mad King Ludwig), 3 - 10 players assume secret identities in this social game. They are either members of the Resistance, which is attempting to overthrow the government, or Spies attempting to thwart the Resistance. Players all have specialist roles (information gathering, role switching, ect), and complete them in a clockwise order, and as they complete them, they attempt to identify the spy before the game ends. The Resistance wins if they identify a single Spy, the Spies win if they remain undetected.
The box will contain ID Tokens, specialist cards, specialist tokens, player reference cards, a leader token, and an HQ tableau.
The Kickstarter has raised $41,940 from 1,458 backers ($28.77/backer average) as of this writing, well over the $10,000 goal. The project will be funded on April 29. Indie Boards and Cards plans for a Gen Con premiere, with backer fulfillment scheduled for September. Trade release and MSRP were not announced.
