Catalyst Game Labs has announced a new boardgame that reverses the traditional resource management game, entitled Wrath of Dragons.  Release is planned for October.

In Wrath of Dragons, players compete to be the most destructive dragon.  Over six centuries (game rounds), the dragons awaken from their slumber to ravage the lands of men, destroying settlements, pillaging resources, and devouring herds.  The game mechanics include action selection, card drafting, and hand management themes.  Players earn points by hoarding various types of resources and by attacking the regions of the game board.

Wrath of Dragons includes a game board, 96 game cards, 6 player “Lair Screens”, punch-out tiles, 6 dragon cards, 6 wooden dragon pawns, and 198 wooden resource pieces.  The game is for two to six players, ages 13 and up, and plays in 60 to 90 minutes.  MSRP is $59.99.
