Iello is offering free-with-purchase promo items to preorders for two upcoming games from its online store, which sends orders to nearby game retailers.  The promo items, tied to preorders of Sapiens (see “Five New Games from Iello”) and Big Book of Madness (see “’Big Book of Madness’ Game Preview”), will be shipped directly from Iello to the customer; while the order and the payment (including shipping cost) are sent to retailers to fulfill.

The Sapiens promo is a set of eight double titles, and the Big Book of Madness promo is a Mime monster.

The underlying system is run by Shopatron, utilized by Iello to power its online store.  Retailers that register are notified of orders available to be fulfilled, and the order is routed to the closest store that responds for shipment or pickup.  Iello’s entire line is listed in the store and uses this system; these promotional items are specifically tied to the two preorders. 

“We didn’t want to handle the inventory and fulfillment, so this is a great solution for us,” an Iello spokesperson told ICv2.
