Doctor Who’s famous robot dog K9 will be getting his own theatrical movie, K9 Timequake, according to Doctor Who News.
The robot dog’s adventures date back to the 1977 Doctor Who series story arc “The Invisible Enemy.” The movie has been written by Bob Baker, one of K9’s original creators, and writer for the Wallace & Gromit films The Wrong Trousers, A Close Shave, and The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. The film will be co-produced in the UK, with exteriors filmed overseas. Release is planned for 2017.
The film will be an outer space adventure that sees K9 face off against Doctor Who villain Omega.
