Twenty years after being awarded the prestigious Spiel des Jahres, Kramer and Ulrich’s classic El Grande returns as El Grande: Big Box, which will be released in an English language version on November 16 by Z-Man Games.

In El Grande, the players are Grandes - the heads of powerful Spanish noble families - competing to expand their influence and control across 15th Century Spain.  Players select action cards each round, which allow them to deploy their “Caballeros” (knights) to various regions or the “Castillo” (castle), influence the movement of the King across the map, and score points.

Created by prolific designers Wolfgang Kramer and Richard Ulrich, and featuring artwork by Doris Matthaus, El Grande was a critical and commercial success for the German publisher Hans im Gluck, spawning a half-dozen expansion sets over the years.  All six of these expansion sets are included along with the basic game in El Grande: Big Box.  This version of the game includes the game board, 5 Grandes, 150 Caballeros, 119 game cards, and various markers and tokens.

El Grande:  Big Box is for 2 - 5 players, ages 13 and up, and plays in about 90 minutes.  MSRP is $99.99.
