{IMAGE_2}Nicole Kidman could be joining the cast for 2017's Wonder Woman, playing an unnamed Amazon, The Wrap reports.

The new DC Comics-based movie will follow Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, where Gail Gadot's Wonder Woman will be introduced (see "'Batman v Superman' Comic-Con Trailer"). While Kidman's potential role in Wonder Woman could be any number of Amazon warriors, the comic storyline includes a substantial role for Hyppolyta, the Queen of the Amazons, and the title character's mother.

Kidman is an Oscar-winning actress, often best known for her work in dramas. In 1995, she played love interest to Val Kilmer's Batman in Batman Forever. If cast, she would be joining Gadot and Chris Pine in Wonder Woman, which is continuing to open up the DC universe. In addition to the upcoming Suicide Squad film, many other movies are in the works, including Flash, Aquaman, and more (see "Warners Announces 9 More DC Movies").

Wonder Woman debuts in theaters on June 23, 2017, with Monster director Patty Jenkins at the helm.
