Zombies Vs Cheerleaders is a campy, tongue-in-cheek two-player card game based on the Moonstone comic book of the same name (see “'Zombies vs. Cheerleaders'”).  It pits the six surviving members of the high school pep squad against a horde of brain-eating zombies.  Each side has their own strengths and weaknesses, creating an asymmetrical strategy game.  It was designed by Richard Toquet, and features artwork created by the Zombies Vs Cheerleaders comic book team.

The game includes 30 zombie cards, 6 zombie boss cards, 6 cheerleader cards, 12 barricade cards, 26 energy tokens, 4 marker cards, 1 zombie flipping card, and 6 teacher tokens.  Zombes vs Cheerleaders is for 2 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in about 30 minutes.  MSRP is $19.99.

Shadow of the Rift will be the second expansion set for Touko Tahkokallio’s award-winning 4-X style science fiction board game Eclipse (see “Top 10 Board Games--Fall 2012”).  This set features time-based anomalies, and introduces new game mechanics, technologies, and alien species to the base game and its earlier expansion.  The various components of the expansion are all designed so they can be added separately or combined together.

The expansion set includes 200 new game tiles, 13 dice, and 2 game boards.  MSRP is $49.99.
