Image Comics will launch Image+, a new magazine distributed monthly with Diamond's Previews catalog, the company announced at ComicsPro. Its 64 pages each month will include bonus creator-owned comics content, exclusive interviews, spotlight features, previews, editorials, and comics coverage. The magazine will be produced by Image Comics Branding Manager David Brothers and Sales & Marketing Production Designer Sasha Head.
The first issue of Image+, shipping in May and focusing on July-releasing titles, will include a four-page The Walking Dead story, the first of twelve such stories by Robert Kirkman and Charles Adlard that will appear in the first year of the magazine. The 48-page story will concern Negan’s origins.
The new content in Image+ will be in addition to the Image Comics section in Previews, which will continue as before. Image Director of Sales Corey Murphy described the goal of the new magazine. "With the Image+ magazine and the new and original content each issue, month in and month out, we hope to bring fresh eyes and excitement to our Previews product listings once again," he said.
In addition to being included with each issue of Previews, Image+ will also be available at a $1.99 retail price.
