Tied to T'Challa's 50th Anniversary & 1st Movie Appearance

Marvel Comics has announced a major merchandising program for its Black Panther character that will celebrate not only the character’s 50th anniversary, but also his first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the forthcoming Captain America: Civil War that debuts nationwide in May. The program announced today features bags from Fast Forward and Global Design Concepts, men’s and women’s apparel from Mad Engine, C-Life, and Fifth Sun, a toy line from Hasbro, LEGO figures, plus Marvel Select Figures and Minimates from Diamond Select, along with Dorbz vinyls and POP bobbleheads from Funko.
Another key element in Marvel’s Black Panther program is a the new Black Panther comic book series, which is written by Ta-Nehisi Coates (Between the World and Me) and illustrated by Brian Stelfreeze (see “Marvel Shares More Black Panther Series Details” and “Black Panther Preview in The Atlantic”), and which will be released on April 6, just one month before T’Challa makes his screen debut in Captain America: Civil War.
