American Mythology Productions has announced a new comic series based on Edgar Rice Burroughs The Land That Time Forgot launching in July.

The series will be written by Mike Wolfer (Friday the 13th, Night of the Living Dead) with art by Giancarlo Caracuzzo (Cable, Gorilla Man), with cover art by Wolfer and Chris Scalf (Star Wars). The new adventure takes readers back to the mysterious island of Caspak, and the story is billed as a direct sequel to the novels.

One hundred years ago, a shipbuilder named Bowen Tyler, a handful of British allies and a German U-33 submarine were all lost at sea near the Antarctic Circle.  They happened on the mysterious island of Caspak, which was surrounded by impregnable rock walls. Inside was a prehistoric world filled with predators and savage primitives from multiple rungs of the evolutionary ladder.  After they escaped and shared their story, no one believed their fanciful tales, since no one could find the island again.

Now Tyler’s great-great-granddaughter Abby has launched an expedition to find the island. But when they arrive, they’ll find something more shocking on the island than they thought possible.
