Chronicle Books is preparing two "gift-ready" Star Wars box set collections for an October release.  Star Wars: Secrets of the Galaxy ($80.00) is a four-volume collection of Star Wars sourcebooks teaming with the kind of information that make any reader a serious Star Wars maven.  The four volumes, all of which have been published before, and which purport to be the quasi-secret handbooks of the organizations involved, include The Jedi Path, the sourcebook for all things “Jedi”, the Book of Sith, which does the same for the Jedi’s malevolent antagonists, The Imperial Handbook, which details the workings of the Empire, and The Bounty Hunter’s Guide, which provides insights into the world view of characters like Boba Fett.

The other Chronicle
Star Wars box set that is due in October is the Goodnight Darth Vader & Darth Vader and Friends Deluxe Box Set ($35), which includes the last two volumes in Eisner Award-winning creator Jeffrey Brown’s series of books that reimagine Darth Vader as the devoted father of the young Luke and Leia.  Goodnight Darth Vader and Darth Vader and Friends are presented for the first time in large format hardcover volumes, and this slipcased edition includes two frameable art prints created just for this set.

Star Wars books are a staple part of holiday bookselling especially in years when a Star Wars movie is being released, which is the case this year with the December 16 release of the spin-off film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (see "First 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' Trailer").
