The Sandman:  Overture, by Neil Gaiman and J.H. Williams III, won the Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story in the awards presented at the 74th World Science Fiction Convention, MidAmericaCon II on Saturday evening, along with a Jessica Jones episode for Best Dramatic Presentation – Short Form.

Among the broader roster of winners, the big story was the failure of the Puppies factions to determine the outcomes for the second year (see “Nostalgia and the New Politics of Fandom” on the 2015 Awards), although two categories ended up as “No Award” because the voters would not support any of the nominees.
