One of the notable absences in Looney Labs new Pyramid Arcade box set release (see “'Pyramid Arcade' Boxed Set”) was Zendo. Looney Labs has announced Zendo 2.0 will be coming in 2017.
Zendo is an inductive logic game designed by Kory Heath. One player takes the role of Master, who creates a rule for structures to follow, while the other players (Students) try to figure out the rule by constructing figures that either follow or break the rule. The first Student to state the rule wins. Looney Labs released a boxed set in 2003, which won the Origins Award for best abstract board game (see “Origins Award Winners For 2003”).
Zendo 2.0 will include pyramid, wedge, and box shaped pieces. It will also come with coins and card. Looney Labs will make extra cards available to store owners, and will offer other in-store support.
